Our curriculum is based on Grassroots framework developed by our preschool consultant – from 20 years working with preschoolers in California, USA.
Every child deserves a chance to excel at their God given abilities. We do not plan to limit your child, and our framework starts by looking at international benchmarks and not just South African benchmark.
Our Grassroots framework: From seedling, to sprout, to blossom.
The framework covers:
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Our program is designed to help children build strong emotional awareness, empathy, and positive social interactions—skills that are foundational for both their personal and academic development. Through guided activities, group play, and thoughtful discussions, we encourage children to recognize and express their emotions in a healthy, constructive way
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
- Our Physical Development program is designed to help children build strength, coordination, and confidence as they engage in a variety of fun and stimulating activities. Through both fine and gross motor activities, children develop the physical skills necessary for everyday tasks and academic success
LANGUAGE AND LITERACY:
- At Mom Greta, we believe that fostering early language and literacy skills is a key foundation for future learning and development. Our Language and Literacy program is designed to nurture children’s ability to communicate, listen, read, and write in a fun and engaging environment. Through storytelling, rhyming games, interactive reading sessions, and hands-on activities, we help children build essential vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills. Our approach encourages curiosity and supports early literacy milestones such as recognizing letters, sounds, and simple words.
MATHEMATICAL THINKING:
- At Mom Greta, we make learning math an exciting and hands-on experience. We believe that early exposure to math concepts helps children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will serve as a foundation for their future learning. Through play-based activities, we introduce children to basic mathematical concepts such as counting, sorting, patterning, shapes, and measurement. By using everyday objects, toys, and interactive games, children learn to recognize numbers, understand quantity, and explore mathematical relationships in a fun and engaging way.
VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS:
- This is a dynamic and creative space where children can express themselves, explore new ideas, and develop a lifelong love for the arts. Through hands-on experiences in both visual and performing arts, we encourage young learners to discover their unique voices and gain confidence in their creativity.
HISTORY- SOCIAL SCIENCE:
- In our program, we introduce young children to the basics through engaging, age-appropriate activities that help them understand the world around them, their place in it, and how people and communities interact. Our History component focuses on helping children develop an awareness of time, past, present, and future. In Social Science, children explore key concepts like community, culture, family, and geography. They learn about the roles of individuals within a community, the importance of rules, and how people cooperate with one another
SCIENCES (PHYSICAL, EARTH, LIFE):
- At Mom Greta, we introduce young learners to the exciting world of science through hands-on, exploratory activities that ignite their natural curiosity and sense of wonder. Our hands-on approach encourages children to observe, ask questions, and think creatively as they learn about the natural world. Whether it’s a nature walk, a fun science experiment, or a classroom discussion about the changing weather, we provide opportunities for children to connect science with their everyday experiences.
